Posted on May 17, 2014

Diane Silberstein has been named publisher of Opera News. Opera News is published by the Metropolitan Opera Guild. Silberstein will be responsible for both the print and digital formats of the magazine. Before joining the magazine, she launched Silberstein Media, representing media brands for advertising and sponsorship sales. Before launching her Silberstein Media, she was VP Strategy and Business Development for Sage Collective. She also has also served as publisher for magazines including Yahoo Internet Life, Playboy, The New Yorker and Elle.

Silberstein says in a statement, "Opera News is an outstanding brand, reporting globally on a performing art sector that connects deeply with its audience of passionate and extremely affluent devotees, providing a most desirable audience for luxury products and distinctive properties. We will be celebrating 80 years of delivering premium content to our fans in 2016, and will begin preparing for the celebration now by bringing new programs and ideas to marketers that are certainly worthy of a standing ovation."

Pamela Dunaway, hired on in October 2013, was the previous publisher of the magazine. She left after just three months.
