Dilbert Live with Scott Adams

Posted on August 20, 1998

Scott Adams, Dilbert creator, bestselling author, and entrepreneur, will add a new line to his resume this fall when he becomes Scott Adams--performance artist. To launch the publication of The Joy of Work: Dilbert's Guide to Finding Happiness at the Expense of Your Co-workers (HarperBusiness; October 1, 1998; $22.00), Adams will bring the comedy of his comic strip creations to the stage in two exclusive performances of Dilbert Live with Scott Adams, in New York City on September 28 and in Los Angeles on October 5.

Adams will take to the boards to spread his message: you can find happiness at work! From playing pranks on your co-workers (like the creation of a fake employee organ donation form), to managing your boss (carpooling with your boss's boss), to the boundless entertainment opportunities of free office Internet access, Adams knows all the tricks for wringing amusement and personal satisfaction from the soulless routine of office life.

In Dilbert Live with Scott Adams, Adams will bring his insights to an audience of fans who have won tickets through Dilbert's Joy of Work Sweepstakes. HarperBusiness and Barnes & Noble will co-sponsor the performance in New York on Broadway at the Kit Kat Klub. In addition to the publication of The Joy of Work and his stage performance ventures, Adams is also working on an animated primetime TV series on UPN in January and a full line of adult toys including the Boss Voodoo Doll, the Dilbert Slammer and the Back Stabber Alert.
