Lincoln Chafee Drops Out of Democratic Presidential Race

Former Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee is dropping out of the presidential race. Chafee has been elected for local, statewide and federal office nine times since 1985. He has served as mayor, governor, and U.S. Senator.

Chafee struggled to gain traction in CNN's Democratic debate. He had a widely criticized moment when he was asked by Anderson Cooper about why he voted in to repeal the Glass-Steagall Act. He made what seemed like excuses to many on social media when he tried to explain how he had just recently occupied the seat. The New York Times reports that the vote did take place on Chafee's first day as Rhode Island's senator. On a more positive note, he was able to point out that he voted against the Iraq War.

Chafee mentioned a Greek play named Lysistrata as he announced he was dropping out at the Women's Leadership Forum. Take a look:
