MarketWatch.com To Syndicate Content to Newspapers

Posted on March 21, 2003

MarketWatch.com, Inc., a source of financial news and information, announced that it has agreed to supply Knight Ridder/Tribune Information Services (KRT) with a selection of columns and breaking news stories to be offered for publication in more than 300 newspapers that are served by the KRT news service. The agreement includes a selection of columns from some of CBS MarketWatch's most popular writers, including Marshall Loeb on personal finance, Steve Kerch on real estate and Frank Barnako on the Internet.

The deal marks the first time that news from MarketWatch.com's flagship website, CBS MarketWatch, would be syndicated to newspapers nationwide. To date, CBS MarketWatch stories have appeared in print in selected newspapers including The Financial Times and the San Francisco Examiner.

"Our agreement with Knight Ridder/Tribune opens up a tremendous audience for our news," said David Callaway, editor-in-chief at CBS MarketWatch. "CBS MarketWatch's cutting edge financial reporting and commentary will now reach thousands of readers at KRT customer newspapers."

Founded in 1997, MarketWatch.com, Inc. operates two websites, CBS MarketWatch and BigCharts. The Company produces the syndicated CBS MarketWatch Weekend program, airs financial reports over The CBS Television Network, and provides updates every 30 minutes on the MarketWatch.com Radio Network. MarketWatch.com licenses market news, investment analysis tools and charting applications to financial services firms and media companies. The Company also offers subscription products for individual investors, including the Hulbert Financial Digest.
