Netscape and IDG Books Announce Book Publishing Partnership

Netscape Communications Corp. and IDG Books Worldwide, Inc. have announced that they will jointly produce a line of books and book/CD-ROM packages for consumers and enterprise users. The books will be published under a new "Netscape Press" imprint, which will focus on Netscape products and technologies.

"We want customers to have information on our software available and accessible," said Lori Mirek, senior vice president of marketing at Netscape. "Netscape Press fits into our company-wide initiative to provide customers with the highest level of product support. IDG Books Worldwide's reputation for publishing high-quality books makes this the right partnership to help customers using and deploying Netscape products."

"We think the combination of IDG Books Worldwide's editorial expertise and Netscape's wide range of consumer and business products will make for a breakthrough new series," Said Steve Sayre, associate publisher at IDG Books Worldwide. "Netscape will collaborate with us on titles, content, authorship, and technical review, ultimately providing a superior resource to customers. IDG is excited to be the premiere Netscape publisher and we hope to continue to be so."
