Reader's Digest and McMurry to Publish Ritz-Carlton Magazine

Posted on January 22, 2002

The Reader's Digest Association, Inc., and its custom publishing partner McMurry Publishing have signed a five-year deal with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C., to publish its in-room magazine. The thick, glossy upscale lifestyle magazine has been published for five consecutive years. The spring issue, published in April and featuring a cover story on Grand Cayman, will be the first for The Ritz-Carlton Magazine under the leadership of the publishing partnership.

"We are thrilled to be associated with Reader's Digest and McMurry," says Stephanie Platt, vice president, communications for The Ritz-Carlton and editor-in-chief for the 50,000 circulation quarterly. "We want to have the best custom published magazine in the industry, and with their experience and reputation, we know that can happen."

Reader's Digest and McMurry just announced a joint custom publishing program last month. On this particular project, McMurry will spearhead project management, creative, production and distribution, while Reader's Digest will drive the ad sales effort aimed at global advertisers, as well as local advertising within regional editions specific to each Ritz-Carlton property.

"This magazine is one of the most coveted custom publishing projects in the country. Landing this deal proves that the partnership we recently initiated with McMurry offers a very appealing combination of services to corporate customers," says Joanne Katsch, director of custom publishing for Reader's Digest.
