Susan Casey Joins Time Inc. as Editor-at-Large

Susan Casey, the former creative director of Outside magazine, will become an editor-at-large at Time Inc., it was announced by Norman Pearlstine, editor-in-chief of Time Inc. As an editor-at-large, Casey will work on a number of different projects at the company's various magazines.

"Susan is an extraordinary talent who has been a key element in Outside's exceptional success," said Pearlstine. "We're delighted to have her join us."

From 1994 through spring 1999, Casey was the creative director of Outside, and also served as a founding co-editor for the debut issue of Women Outside in the fall of 1998. She was instrumental in leading Outside to three consecutive National Magazine Awards for General Excellence in 1996, 1997, and 1998. From 1991 to 1994 Casey worked as an editorial consultant, specializing in launches and re-designs. She was the art director of the clothing company Esprit from 1990 through 1991. Prior to 1990, she worked in the Canadian publishing industry, eventually becoming the creative director of The Globe and Mail.
