The Wall Street Journal Interactive Launches Technology Section

Posted on September 11, 1997

The Wall Street Journal Interactive Edition launched the Tech Center, a new section that expands the Interactive Journal's technology coverage with continually updated content. The Tech Center is available to all subscribers of the Interactive Journal at http://wsj.com.

The Wall Street Journal's coverage of technology has always been closely watched by every major player in the business, and we felt it was time both to highlight it and to expand its usefulness on the Web," said Neil F. Budde, editor of The Wall Street Journal Interactive Edition. "The Tech Center expanded our coverage of every aspect of technology, and also analyzes how technology affects every company and investor."

The Tech Center appears as a new section within the Interactive Journal, replacing the single page of technology news formerly located in the "Marketplace" section. The Tech Center contains news and information from the print edition of The Wall Street Journal and other Dow Jones news services, and from an expanded Interactive Journal news staff based in New York and San Francisco dedicated to original coverage for the section.

In addition to its front page, highlighting the top technology news, the Tech Center includes pages dedicated to four news areas: hardware and software, alliances and new businesses, the converging worlds of telecommunications, and media and computing.
