Vevo to Honor Most-Watched Videos With Certified Award

Vevo, a music video destination, has announced plans to celebrates videos that reach the 100 million views milestone with a special certified award. Artists award with Vevo Certified will also be celebrated with online programming, including a a series of exclusive, artist and fan-focused original programming honoring each video clip.

The inaugural Vevo Certified honorees artists are Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, LMFAO and Selena Gomez. Each artists has two or more music videos that have reached the milestone. Justin Bieber has eight of them.

Bieber said in a statement, "To have eight Vevo Certified videos means the world. I always say the internet is where I got my start. I posted videos and now to have it come full circle - and now I'm getting Certified - it's amazing."

Reuters says the certified award will become a popular measure of success, similar to Billboard chart positions and the RIAA silver, gold and platinum awards for sales.
