Posted on February 4, 1999

American Lawyer Media, Inc. (ALM) has announced the launch of California Law Week. Premiering February 8, California Law Week will combine weekly print coverage and commentary on statewide legal issues, with a daily legal e-mail news service for subscribers. The newspaper will offer readers enhanced coverage of topics ranging from Hollywood deal-making to legal trends in Silicon Valley. California Law Week will also provide features and original content for ALM's Cal Law site, and will complement The Recorder, ALM's daily legal newspaper based in San Francisco.

"California Law Week offers lawyers, legislators and executives across the state three-tier print, electronic and Web access to vital legal news and analysis," said William Pollak, President and Chief Executive Officer of ALM. "In addition, it will create new opportunities for ALM to leverage its coverage of this important region in a variety of products, from our national publications to our online initiatives through the Law News Network and AmLawJOBS.com."

The first issue of California Law Week will debut next Monday, February 8, 1999. The publication will be tabloid-sized and printed on a distinctive peach-colored stock. Approximately 85% of the paper's distribution is expected to be in Southern California.
