Barbie Fairytopia DVD in Development

Mainframe Entertainment, a CG animation production company in Canada, and Mattel, Inc. are completing production on a new CG animated feature-length DVD based on Mattel's toy line Barbie Fairytopia. Lion's Gate Family Home Entertainment will handle distribution of the film in North America. The feature, Barbie Fairytopia, will be available in stores March 8, 2005. In Barbie Fairytopia, Barbie stars as Elina, a beautiful wingless fairy, who embarks on a fantastic journey to save her flower home from the evil Laverna in the magical world of Fairytopia. Helped by her quirky friend Bibble, and Hue, a giant butterfly, Elina learns that what makes us different makes us special as she saves this beautiful land.
