Bigchalk.com, a K-12 online education network, and World Book, creators of encyclopedia products, have announced a strategic partnership to deliver content from World Book Online on the bigchalk.com destination. World Book articles will be integrated into bigchalk.com's Web reference tool, eLibrary. eLibrary allows users to conduct research through a collection of newspapers, magazines, TV, radio and government transcripts, books, photographs and maps.

bigchalk.com will also expand its research sources at Homework Central, its free homework help area, to include selected World Book articles. The bigchalk.com site will begin carrying World Book content beginning September 1.

``We are delighted to expand our growing suite of education tools to include a renowned research source such as World Book,'' said Dr. Barbara Kurshan, bigchalk.com Executive Vice President and Chief Education Officer. ``Teachers, parents and students will not only have access to more information, but providing this service continues our mission of providing the best products and services -- and making sure that they are accessible to everyone.''

``Partnering with bigchalk.com demonstrates World Book's intent to match its online penetration with its offline reputation as the top-rated encyclopedia,'' said Michael Ross, EVP and Publisher, World Book. ``bigchalk.com was a natural choice for us, as they mirror our high standards and commitment to education. Strategically, this deal will help World Book quickly expand its online presence by accessing bigchalk.com's strong customer base of 40,000 schools and 25 million students.''
