Bloomberg.com Launches Entrepreneur Network

Posted on November 3, 1999

Bloomberg.com has launched its Entrepreneur Network, a resource that pools the resources of Bloomberg with business content and service providers. Bloomberg.com attracted 144 million page views in September 1999 and ranks in the top 5 in its category, according to Media Metrix.

Launched in conjunction with Lets Talk Business Network, a New York-based entrepreneurial support community, the Entrepreneur Network showcases articles, audio and video commentary from Bloomberg radio and television, including the magazine show Bloomberg Small Business, which airs Saturday mornings on USA Network. Users can also link to articles from top business magazines, including Entrepreneur and Fast Company. According to Wachtel, the Entrepreneur Network will be adding chat rooms and message boards in the coming months.

Additionally, small business owners can purchase services and products from Onvia.com, a business-to-business online operations center, and access Bankrate.com, which provides research on banking and credit products. Monthly tutorials will be supplied by Learn2.com offering guidance on topics such as how to operate software to how to hire or fire an employee.

"We're aiming to make the Entrepreneur Network the complete online source for small business owners," said David Wachtel, publisher of Bloomberg Media. "By giving small business owners access to highly sophisticated resources, we want to help them meet the challenges of owning and growing a business."
