Cadalyst Magazine Announces Expanded Editorial Coverage and Circulation Increase

Michael J. Skerly, publisher of Cadalyst magazine, Thursday announced that the publication's editorial content will expand to include major coverage of CAD products and technologies in addition to those of Autodesk and Autodesk-related products. The additional industry coverage, along with an increase in circulation, will begin with a totally redesigned Cadalyst August issue.

Commenting on the expansion, Skerly noted that, "The entire Cadalyst team has been investigating this scenario for nearly two years. We feel that now is the very best time to make this move, as the market is expanding with a myriad of exciting new technologies and products. Cadalyst will continue with its comprehensive Autodesk coverage but will also review every important technology that is impacting our market segment."

He further went on to say, "Most particularly, the convergence of 2D and 3D design is spurring broader use of different CAD tools and generating a wave of interest in new and wider segments of the market. Our broader coverage will allow us to bridge the 2D design community to the 3D technologies that will take them to the next level in CAD. Plus, it will enable us to extend our lead in providing more product reviews and product coverage than any other magazine in our market."

As part of the new publishing program, Skerly also announced that Cadalyst will have a significant circulation increase aimed at further expanding the publication's reach among top CAD management and CAD leaders in Fortune 1000 companies. To accomplish this circulation increase, the magazine soon will be detailing a unique bonus circulation program designed to penetrate an additional CAD universe of some 150,000 CAD users in 1999.

In a related announcement, Lea Ramirez has rejoined Cadalyst as associate publisher. She was formally national sales manager for the publication and for the past year has served as national accounts manager at Cahners Business Information. In announcing her appointment, Skerly said, "Having Lea return to our Cadalyst team gives us additional management and marketing expertise from an experienced professional in the CAD market. I'm personally delighted to have Lea's leadership in communicating Cadalyst's exciting new editorial and circulation program to the CAD industry."
