ChannelSpace Entertainment Acquires CollectorsWeb.com

ChannelSpace Entertainment, Inc. the parent company of collectingchannel.com, has announced the acquisition of CollectorsWeb.com.
Ron McCoy, founder/owner of CollectorsWeb, says in a statement, "We are pioneers in the midst of a fast developing trend, truly mixing the old and the new -- antiques/collectibles and computers. I'm pleased and excited to be a part of ollectingchannel.com, the web's ultimate destination and resource for collectors."
McCoy will oversee a wide range of activities for collectingchannel.com, including writing a daily newsletter featuring the latest in collectibles news (to be emailed to subscribers.) His primary function will be the development and management of all chat rooms and message boards for collectingchannel.com. McCoy will also be providing content for ChannelSpaces' latest television venture, the Treasures In Your Home (PAX, M-F, 7PM -- 8PM EST. Live) debuting nationwide on August 9, 1999.
ChannelSpace CEO Barry Friedman says, "The acquisition of collectorsweb.com brings users of collectingchannel.com a premium subscription service for our collecting users and it brings us significant assets due to Ron's exemplary work with discussion groups in the collecting field. Ron has already implemented the discussion groups for the smash hit show Treasures In Your Home."
