CMP Media's InformationWeek Launches Optimiz

Posted on August 23, 2001

CMP Media's InformationWeek, an IT media brand, announced the launch of Optimize, a monthly magazine for business technology executives. Optimize will offer insight into new business technology theories, strategies and ideas. The publication, which debuts with the November 2001 issue, will reach 70,000 CIOs, CTOs, VP/IS and technology-involved corporate managers. Brian Gillooly, Editor-in-Chief of InformationWeek Events, has been named Editor-in-Chief of Optimize.

``Based on feedback from the readers of InformationWeek, we recognized a growing appetite among IT executives to be well-versed in conventional business thinking, including strategic growth, sales and business leadership,'' said Gillooly. ``Optimize will deconstruct conventional business thinking, provide thought leadership from the most trusted names in business, technology and academia, and provide tangible steps that will help readers capitalize on these strategies to achieve corporate and professional success.''

Optimize plans to concentrate on helping business technology executives achieve optimal execution by examining the prevailing business practices and adding new ideas, strategy and vision grounded in reality. To ensure that an understanding of business theory fuels bottom-line impact, each article in Optimize will provide practical applications of these strategies and ideas through case studies and research.

``What I like about Optimize is that it balances the news, analysis and issues about the enterprise that I already get with valuable perspective about optimizing individual efforts,'' said Dave Bent, CIO of Acterna and a member of InformationWeek's Editorial Advisory Board. ``It's a perfect complement to InformationWeek, which delivers what I need to know about the enterprise. Optimize will provide a unique, thought-provoking agenda on strategic business technology issues for the individual, while providing concrete steps for helping drive longer term planning.''
