Dennis O'Neill, former VP of sales and advertising for Editor & Publisher Co., has been named VP, Publisher, company officials announced this week. O'Neill's promotion follows the recent acquisition of The Editor & Publisher Co. by BPI Communications, which has added E&P to its Adweek Magazines division. In his new post, O'Neill will oversee management of Editor & Publisher magazine, the monthly Free Paper Publisher, the online magazine MediaInfo.com, as well as the company's directories, conferences, and electronic publishing businesses.

O'Neill, 42, joined E&P in 1995 as head of the New Media Division, where he spearheaded the launch of such products as E&P Interactive, and its bi-monthly print counterpart, as well as leading the acquisition of Interactive Newspaper Conference. In 1997, he was promoted to VP Sales and Advertising, responsible for the sale of print and electronic advertising, CD-ROM products, and conference sponsorships.

E&P is an Adweek Magazines publication.
