Dr. Dobb's Journal Launches Electronic Review of Computer Books

Dr. Dobb's Journal, a magazine for platform independent software developers, announced "Dr. Dobb's Electronic Review of Computer Books," a section of the Dr. Dobb's web site devoted to independent reviews of computer books.

DDJ editor-in-chief Jon Erickson, says in a statement, "Dr. Dobb's 116,500+ readers are among the most advanced technical computer professionals in the world and they're constantly in search of the best quality information about computing topics. This site will help developers find the most useful of the thousands of technical computer books published each year. The web is the perfect way to deliver this kind of valued information."

Noted author and long-time contributing editor to Dr. Dobb's Journal, Ray Duncan, is editor of the Dr. Dobb's Electronic Review of Computer Books. The site is updated weekly with new book reviews. The monthly book review column in print in Dr. Dobb's Journal, Programmer's Bookshelf, will promote the hundreds of reviews available on the Electronic Review of Computer Books site. An e-mail notification system is available to site visitors interested in reviews about selected topics.
