Posted on September 15, 2000

Dr. Dobb's Journal magazine has launched MacintoshDeveloper.com, a website tailored to the needs of Macintosh software developers. MacintoshDeveloper.com features forums, news, tutorials, and syntax guides. Several programming languages are covered, including C, MacPerl, AppleScript and REALBasic.

Created and edited by Chilton Webb, a professional Macintosh software developer himself, the site was created for programmers, by programmers. ``I built MacintoshDeveloper.com because I needed something like it,'' Webb explained. ``And when I went looking for an independent technical Macintosh resource, I couldn't find anything that really that filled the bill. So I ended up creating MacintoshDeveloper.com.''

Dr. Dobb's Journal editor-in-chief Jonathan Erickson added that ` `DDJ has covered Macintosh development since the beginning. In fact, former DDJ editors were members of the original Macintosh development team. MacintoshDeveloper.com continues in our longstanding tradition of providing must-have technical information for all programmers.''

Dr. Dobb's Journal magazine a division of CMP Media Inc., is now it its 25th year of publication. Dr. Dobb's Journal is based in San Mateo, California. CMP Media Inc. is the leading high-tech media company.
