eDrive.com Entertainment Community Moves to the Web

Entertainment Drive LLC announced that after nearly five years, as one of the most popular community and content areas on CompuServe, its eDrive sites will now be available exclusively on the Web. Many of eDrive's over 1 million members and 200 volunteers from CompuServe are already taking up residence on the eDrive website where chat and messaging functions are now available.

"CompuServe provided an extraordinary foundation for building our community management expertise," said Michael Bolanos, founder, president and CEO of Entertainment Drive. "The technologies are now available and the time is right to cultivate larger communities on the Web. eDrive has demonstrated that vigorous customer participation combined with entertainment content is a model with enormous appeal and longevity. And it doesn't exist anywhere else."

CompuServe will redirect subscribers to the eDrive website into the third quarter, where a special Welcome Center is set up. Entertainment Drive LLC has also regained the equity acquired in 1995 by CompuServe, which was itself recently acquired by America Online. eDrive retains over 50,000 files which were presented on CompuServe, and where during its tenure, eDrive hosted over 5 million messages and nearly 7 million downloads.
