Edwin A. Finn, Jr. Named President of Barron's

Dow Jones & Company announced the appointment of Edwin A. Finn, Jr., editor of Barron's, the Dow Jones Business and Financial Weekly, to the new and additional post of president of the publication. In his new role, Mr. Finn, 43, will be responsible for all Barron's operations. The appointment is effective immediately.

Mr. Finn will continue to report to James. H. Ottaway, Jr., senior vice president of Dow Jones. Mr. Ottaway, 59, in a note to Dow Jones staff, described the move as "part of a gradual transition of management responsibility for Barron's."

Robert R. Paradise, 63, publisher and vice president of Barron's since 1989, will remain in that post, and will report to Mr. Finn. Mr. Paradise will also remain CEO of Dow Jones Financial Publishing Co., which publishes Dow Jones Investment Advisor and Dow Jones Asset Management magazines and Realty Stock Review newsletter.

Mr. Finn has been editor of Barron's since 1995, having been named managing editor in 1993. He had previously worked as editor of American Banker and assistant managing editor at Forbes.
