Fatbrain.com has announced the appointment of Judy Kirkpatrick to spearhead the company's new Digital Publishing division and Cindy Tyler to head Online Business Services. Kirkpatrick has been appointed vice president and general manager, Digital Publishing. Tyler will serve as director, Online Business Services.

As head of the company's digital publishing business, Kirkpatrick is responsible for the new eMatter initiative, an e-commerce model for digital publishing over the Internet. Kirkpatrick previously served as director of marketing at Adobe Systems, where she launched the Adobe Acrobat product. She also held the position of director of marketing for Adobe's Internet products division.

Tyler, a 17-year veteran of Xerox Corp., will lead efforts in Fatbrain.com's growing print-on-demand business. The Online Business Services group provides corporations with print-on-demand publishing and distribution of hard-copy documentation for their products. Previously these materials were primarily available in electronic format. Online Business Services has established business-to-business partnerships with companies including IBM, Novell, Sun Microsystems, 3Com and Cisco Systems. Tyler previously served in executive sales positions for Xerox Business Services in Seattle, Los Angeles and Santa Clara, CA.

``Judy has brought to us a depth of expertise in the digital publishing market that has already proved to be invaluable in our launch of the exciting eMatter initiative,'' said Chris MacAskill, CEO and president of Fatbrain.com. ``Cindy was a tremendous win for us as well, as she brings with her a strong marketing background, combined with a proven track record in the print-on-demand arena. We are truly pleased about both additions to the management team at Fatbrain.com, and we look forward to seeing these talents drive forward our company's initiatives.''
