International Data Group (IDG) has named Mark Williams as the chief operating officer of its online recruiting service, ITcareers.com, a division of IDG's new business unit ITworld.com. Additionally, Rich Mikita has been named ITworld.com's Vice President of Research and Development. IDG's ITworld.com is an online resource for Enterprise IT professionals, to be launched next month.

The appointments of Williams and Mikita are two in the latest round of executive announcements at IDG. Earlier this year, IDG named William Reinstein president and CEO of ITworld.com, responsible for the overall strategic direction and operation of the new Web-based, information network.

"Mark and Rich are seasoned professionals in the Internet arena. Both possess a strong understanding of online markets, a tremendous amount of relevant strategic business experience, and a far-reach vision which will help us to achieve the aggressive goals we have set for the launch of ITworld.com," said Reinstein. "We are very pleased to have Rich and Mark join our team at this exciting time."

Williams comes to IDG with Internet and recruitment experience spanning various international markets. Prior to joining IDG, he led business development and sales for TMP Worldwide, the parent company of Internet jobs portal Monster.com. He also served in a senior business development capacity with e-commerce specialist Mediaplex.

Rich Mikita joins IDG from the Meta Group, where he was Vice President of the Interactive Publications unit. Previously, he led the design and development of market research databases for IDG's business units. Mikita began his IT career at ROI, a Wall Street technology consulting firm. He holds a BA from Rutgers University, an MA from Indiana University, and has done post-graduate work at U.C. Berkeley.
