Imagine Media Announces U.S. Debut of T3

Posted on September 15, 2000

Imagine Media, Inc. will officially launch T3: Tomorrow's Technology Today, a new flashy technology magazine for consumers, with the November 2000 issue, which will hit newsstands on October 3rd. Originally published in Europe by Imagine's parent company, The Future Network, T3 magazine already enjoys success in nine countries including the United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil, and Italy.

The premiere issue includes a ``Digital Lifestyle'' special feature focusing on technology gear for everyone from the outdoorsman and young exec to the fitness fanatic and couch potato. Readers will also find departments such as ``Showcase'' featuring products, ``Technofile'' celebrating new inventions, and a ``How To Buy'' section as well as reviews of the best gear.

Jim Douglas, T3's editor in chief claims, ``There's never been a more exciting time for gear-heads. Technological progress is still gaining speed. Practically every aspect of our lives has been dramatically enhanced by this progress. In short, there's more cool technology around now than ever before. The gear is better, it does what it's supposed to, it costs less, and -- of course -- it looks great.''

Peter Hirschfeld, group publisher of T3 adds, ``The launch of T3 was terrific! We far exceeded our expectations for advertising revenue and also for initial newsstand orders. The entire staff has done an outstanding job. The enthusiasm is high for this magazine by the consumer electronics manufacturers, and even more important, by individuals wanting to receive T3, so we really seem to be tapping an unfulfilled niche. The concept of a publication about technology products in a lifestyle environment is proving very solid.''

Imagine Media is a publisher of technology-related magazines and websites. It recently merged into the Future Network plc, the media company founded by Imagine's CEO Chris Anderson in 1985. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Imagine Media's publications sell in excess of 2.5 million copies per month. Some its titles and Web properties include Maximum PC, Business 2.0, PC Gamer, Total Games, DailyRadar.com, MacAddict.com, and digitalFOTO.com.
