Posted on November 22, 1999

Imagine Media has announced plans to launch five new consumer-focused magazines. The new titles will enter five dynamic consumer markets: music, movies, digital photography, electronic gadgets and computing. They join Imagine's nine current magazines including Business 2.0, PC Gamer, Next Generation, PSM and Mac Addict.

Imagine Media's founder and CEO Chris Anderson said, "We're delighted to be able to unveil this next phase of our growth. Imagine has a unique track record of successful launches into markets where there are exciting changes afoot and passionate audiences developing. In each of the new markets we're entering next year, we see that excitement and passion igniting. Technology is changing the rules of the game, and that has created compelling new information needs. Last year, Business 2.0 successfully nailed the new economy agenda and has already become an extraordinary magazine success story. Our new launches aim to take equally exciting leadership roles."

Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Imagine Media's publications sell in excess of 1.8 million copies per month. Its titles include: Business 2.0, MacAddict, Maximum PC, PC Gamer, PC Accelerator, PSM: 100% Independent PlayStation Magazine, Next Generation, Official Sega Dreamcast Magazine and Games Business.
