Posted on February 1, 1999

Intertec Publishing, the trade and technical publishing division of Primedia, has announced promotions of key executives and a reorganization of its operating structure. Cameron B. Bishop has been promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer, and Ronald D. Wall has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Raymond E. Maloney, previously President and CEO, will assume the position of Chairman. In addition, the Company will organize its magazine operations into eight divisions, plus the Exhibitions and Book divisions.

"These changes position the Company for long-term growth and provide us with an even stronger business platform for the future," said Maloney. "We have an exceptionally talented, seasoned upper-management team that is well prepared to step into these new leadership positions.

"During the past several years, Intertec has tripled in size to more than $300 million in revenue as it built a diverse portfolio of successful magazines and exhibitions, cultivated through both acquisition and organic growth. Our new operating structure creates an organizational platform that will allow us to continue building industry powerhouses, which demonstrate dominance of a marketplace. These brand franchises maximize natural synergies among magazines, exhibitions, books, New Media, international publishing, list rental and other critical products," Maloney continued.

The Company's magazines will be organized into eight divisions: Agribusiness; Communications; Electrical & Public Services; Entertainment; Industrial; Marketing; Professional Services & Apparel; and Transportation. Trade shows will remain in the Exhibitions Division, and specialty book publishing will remain in the Book Division.
