JavaWorld to Launch Internet Radio Show

JavaWorld magazine will launch the pilot of 'Streaming JavaWorld,' an Internet streaming-audio news and talk show aimed at project managers and developers using Java technology. The pilot program will be available in mid-June, to coincide with JavaOne, Sun Microsystem's Worldwide Java Developer Conference (June 15-18 in San Francisco). The show, which will feature interviews with key Java technologists and developers, will be hosted on the JavaWorld and ComputerWorld websites.

"Today's managers suffer from information overload," said David Fisco, host of 'Streaming JavaWorld'. "They don't have the time to click through Web pages to get the technical news and information they need to get their jobs done. That's why we decided to create 'Streaming JavaWorld'. In an audio format, the listener can better utilize his or her time. The show can play in the background while the listener works on other things. Listeners can go to the show's Web site whenever they seek further information."

"JavaWorld looks forward to expanding its content to include a new audio program dedicated to project managers as well as developers," said Michael O'Connell, Editor-in-Chief of JavaWorld. "The show will feature interviews with the people driving Java technology -- both at major companies such as Sun and IBM, and at smaller firms such as ISVs and consultant shops that rely heavily on Java. We'll also offer high-level news reports of important new developments, geared specifically to keep managers in the know."

David Fisco, who will serve as the host of 'Streaming JavaWorld,' was the founding editor-in-chief of Java Report magazine. He has spent four years as a technical media and software consultant to clients in the fields of education, environmental engineering, communications, and finance. Dave is a twelve-year member (newscaster) of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. He is a graduate of Rutgers University.
