Jeff Wells Writes Hollywood Confidential Column for Reel.com

Reel.com, has brought aboard Jeffrey Wells as an entertainment columnist. Formerly a columnist for Mr. Showbiz, Wells and his column have moved to Reel.com under the name "Hollywood Confidential." The column will debut in Reel.com's Movie News area later this month and will focus on insider movie news, buzz, scoops and opinion. In early September, his column will focus on live coverage from the Toronto International Film Festival.

Reel.com also has also announced a newly redesigned site with enhanced shopping features as well as more information for each movie title and the industry overall. "Hollywood Confidential" will be part of the new site's expanded editorial coverage by Reel.com's staff of movie experts, which will include additional interviews with stars and directors, more pieces on movie trends, and more coverage of top film festivals.

"With over 20 years of entertainment journalism experience, Jeff is an entertainment personality with a following," said Dave Rochlin, chief operating officer of Reel.com. "His column will add a genuine slice of the entertainment industry to our site, build our presence among the Hollywood insider community, and give our readers and customers the scoop about the making of movies. Most importantly, his column will add to our growing wealth of movie content, which is making us the movie capital of the Internet."

Wells started his journalism career as reporter and managing editor for The Film Journal, beginning in 1981. He next worked at The Hollywood Reporter as an editor and feature writer. He worked as a freelance reporter for five years (1991 through 1996) for Entertainment Weekly and wrote regular freelance articles about the film industry for The Los Angeles Times and The New York Times. Wells was a regular freelance writer for People magazine from July 1996 through April 1998.
