Joyce Chang Named Editor-in-Chief of Self Magazine

Joyce Chang has been named editor-in-chief of Self magazine. She describes herself as a dance cardio addict and "trier of everything" on her Twitter account, @joycemarg. The appointment was effective May 1st. Charles H. Townsend, ceo of Conde Nast, made the announcement earlier this month. Chang was previously executive editor of Cosmopolitan. She succeeds Lucy Danziger, who is leaving Self.

Chang says in a statement, "Busy women need curated ideas, information and inspiration to lead rich, balanced lives. I look forward to taking the helm at Self and expanding its mission of championing women to be their personal best."

Julianne Hough covered the March 2014 issue of the health and beauty publication. Kate Hudson covers the new May 2014 issue.

Ann Wintour, artist director at Conde Nast and Vogue editor-in-chief, says, "I am so pleased to welcome Joyce back to Conde Nast. Her diverse resume of experiences has taught her the power of a strong and intelligent woman. I'm excited to see the new direction she will bring to Self."

Laure McEwen, vice president and publisher of Self, will also be departing the magazine. Self says it will soon name her successor.
