Kaplan, a provider of educational and career services, has announced that it has launched www.kaplan.com. Kaplan has expanded its offerings into new areas such as elementary educational services, distance learning, professional training, and recruiting services. Kaplan president and CEO Jonathan Grayer has named William Rosenthal, formerly president of Ziff-Davis Education and the visionary behind ZD University, president of kaplan.com.

"Kaplan has been able to build on its powerful brand name and become the leader of educational and career services on the Internet," said Mr. Grayer. "The Web is broadening access to education, and revolutionizing the way we deliver it. I can think of no better person to lead kaplan.com and its programs into the next millenium than Bill Rosenthal, a pioneer on the Web."

Mr. Rosenthal was president of Ziff-Davis Education since 1997. He supervised the operations of ZD University. Previously, Rosenthal was president of the Ziff-Davis Training & Support Publishing Group after Logical Operations, the global computer publishing company he co-founded, was acquired by Ziff-Davis in 1991. Mr. Rosenthal will also serve as president of KaplanCollege.com.

"Kaplan is more than just a test prep company. kaplan.com is a network of educational services which help individuals of all ages to achieve educational and career goals," said Mr. Rosenthal. "kaplan.com is a launch pad for big things to come, as the company continues to harness the power of the Internet in the creation and delivery of new programs."
