LATimes.com and City Search Launch New Website

Posted on April 30, 1998

CalendarLive.com is a partnership of the Los Angeles Times and City Search. Editors from the newspaper's website, LATimes.com and CitySearch.com along with contributors from around the region compile information for CalendarLive.com. The website will act as an interactive guide to arts, entertainment, recreation and dining around Southern California.

"The new website is built on the success of the popular and award-winning daily entertainment section of the Los Angeles Times," said Harry Chandler, director of new business development. "CalendarLive.com goes well beyond our print product with thousands more event listings, photos, reviews, best bets, movies showtimes, as well as profiles of every major dining spot, museum, bookstore, nightclub, theater and recreation area. However, the website's interactivity makes it much more than just a rich source of information."

As part of the website's opening celebration, visitors have a chance to win tickets to Natalie Cole's performance at the House of Blues, Mary Chapin Carpenter's show at The Greek, Backstreet Boys at Universal Amphitheater and other live performances and sporting events.
