Macmillan Launches Encyclopedia of Computing
Posted on November 19, 1997
Macmillan Computer Publishing USA has launched " mcp.com: The Authoritative Encyclopedia of Computing". The new Web site for Macmillan Computer Publishing USA (MCP) builds on the foundation of Internet culture, providing resource centers for established online computing communities.
"We've had online communities for as long as we've had the Internet," said Gregg Bushyeager, Director of Development for Macmillan Online. "MCP's new Web site goes to the heart of those communities. We've tailored our site to fit the demands of our users, structuring information so they can easily find what they're looking for -- be it books, software or content."
Users will have free access to 150 full-text computing books, and nine topical resource centers full of reference material from both Macmillan and third-party providers. The site also offers secure online shopping for more than 7,000 book and software products from Macmillan and its parent company Simon & Schuster.
