McGraw-Hill Appoints Robert E. Evanson Executive Vice President, EEPG

The McGraw-Hill Companies named Robert E. Evanson executive vice president of its Educational and Professional Publishing Group (EPPG), which includes the Corporation's Educational Publishing, Higher Education and Consumer, and Professional Publishing businesses. He will report to Jack E. Witmer, president of EPPG, and will work closely with him in managing the segment's operating units and support functions.

"Bob Evanson adds substantial depth to our management structure and will work with me to ensure continued momentum for our educational and professional publishing businesses in the U.S. and abroad," said Mr. Witmer. "Bob has a track record as a skilled manager and strong leader. He did an outstanding job of successfully integrating Times Mirror Higher Education into our existing higher education business last year and the Macmillan/McGraw-Hill joint venture school publishing company into McGraw-Hill operations in 1993. He also recently established the McGraw-Hill Lifetime Learning unit," he added.

Mr. Evanson most recently served as president of the Corporation's Higher Education and Consumer business. He joined The McGraw-Hill Companies in 1992 as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Macmillan/McGraw-Hill School Publishing. He also held various posts at Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, Inc. He is a CPA and holds a B.A. from St. John's University and an M.B.A. from New York Institute of Technology.
