McGraw-Hill Launches My House Magazine

McGraw-Hill Construction, part of The McGraw-Hill Companies, has launched My House in the Mountain States, a new regional magazine targeted at high-end homeowners and design and building professional. My House in the Mountain States will debut in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana this month. Additional My House editions will follow in other regions of the country in the future.

"The mountain states region is well known as one of the country's most dynamic and growing homebuilding markets. With its range of urban, suburban and mountain residences, it is the perfect location for launching the My House concept," said James H. McGraw, IV, group publisher for McGraw-Hill Construction.

Robert Ivy, vice president and group editorial director for McGraw-Hill Construction, said the magazine is "our informed response to the corresponding need for well-organized, practical information resources to help homeowners and builders work together toward a common goal of smart home design." McGraw-Hill plans for My House magazine and related events, books, internet and television programming to extend the company's reach into consumer markets.

Every bimonthly issue of My House will contain stories about successful homebuilding and renovation projects in the region. Editorial will include case studies of remarkable homes, practical advice, guides, regional design and construction resources, Features and photo essays will focus on exciting homes and renovated homes in a variety of settings -- urban, mountain, suburban and rural.

"My House is about outstanding architecture and design projects in multiple settings. Reflecting the array of lifestyle choices by the region's diverse population, the houses are varied in style and represent the best in contemporary and traditional design and everything in between," said Mindy Pantiel, My House in the Mountain States editor and the former regional editor of Metropolitan Home, and Better Homes and Gardens magazines. "The visuals are supported by informative personal narratives that tell the story from the vantage points of both the homeowners and the design professionals."
