McGraw-Hill Names Norbert Young to Head Construction Information Group

The McGraw-Hill Companies has named Norbert W. Young Jr. president of the McGraw-Hill Construction Information Group, the leading source of project news, product information, industry analysis and editorial coverage for design and construction professionals. He will report to Vasant Prabhu, president, Information and Media Services.

Young had been the Construction Information Group's senior vice president for editorial and product development since May 1998. CIG's brands include F.W. Dodge, Sweet's Group, Engineering News-Record, Architectural Record and Design-Build.

"Norbert's extensive knowledge of and experience in all aspects of the construction business will serve CIG well in extending its industry leadership," said Harold McGraw III, president and CEO of The McGraw-Hill Companies. "Norbert is uniquely qualified to lead CIG in its mission to provide the highest quality information products to all segments of the construction industry."

Young joined The McGraw-Hill Companies in November 1997 as vice president, editorial, for F.W. Dodge. He previously was president of Bovis Management Systems, a division of Bovis Construction Corp., where he was instrumental in planning and executing major capital projects for such clients as Bank of America, AMC Theaters and Rutgers University. In addition, he successfully managed the planning and construction for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
