Mecklermedia Buys Remaining Share of Internet World Australia Trade Show

Mecklermedia acquired the remaining 50% stake in the Internet World Australia Pacific trade show from Kirby Network Services Ltd. of Sydney, increasing its ownership to 100%. Kirby, which has organized the Australia exhibition since its inception in 1995, will be retained by Mecklermedia to organize the show, scheduled for August 12-14, 1998 in Sydney.

"We're excited about increasing our equity in this successful show as we expect significant growth in Internet usage internationally as seen in the United States," said Alan M. Meckler, chairman and CEO of Mecklermedia. Currently, Mecklermedia has 28 trade shows organized in 25 countries on five continents.
