Mecklermedia Names Venditto Editor-In-Chief of Internet.com

Mecklermedia Corporation announced that Gus Venditto has been appointed editor-in-chief of its Internet.com Web publishing unit. In this newly created position, Venditto is responsible for all editorial operations of the 16 Web sites that make up Internet.com.

"Having Gus Venditto in this vital role will enhance Internet.com's position as the authority for information about the Internet for developers, industry professionals and sophisticated Internet users," said Chris Elwell, vice president and general manager of Internet.com. "We're fortunate to have the benefit of Gus' 14 years experience in editorial management in the Internet and computing fields," Elwell added.

"Internet.com is in a unique position to shape the future of e-commerce," Venditto said. "Our challenge is to continue serving the builders of the Internet through a period of hyper-growth with even more in-depth information." Venditto was most recently editor-in-chief of Mecklermedia's Internet World magazine. In 1992, he was founding editor-in-chief of Ziff-Davis' Windows Sources magazine. From 1984 to 1992 he served with PC Magazine in a variety of roles from managing editor to executive editor in charge of the labs, software, news, and interactive online services. Mr. Venditto is the author of seven books and more than 300 magazine articles, and has appeared on CNN, "The Wall Street Journal Report," and numerous radio shows.

Mecklermedia's Internet.com provides real-time news and information resources for Web developers, Internet industry professionals and sophisticated Internet users. In total, the sites that make up Internet.com receive more than 8 million page views monthly.
