Meredith Announces Expansion of More Magazine Staff

Posted on May 10, 2000

Meredith Corporation has announced the expansion of More magazine's senior editorial and publishing staffs. These appointments have been made based on the company's previously reported decision to increase More's frequency to ten times a year by February 2001. All changes are effective immediately.

``More has been successfully developed and nurtured by Myrna Blyth and members of her Ladies' Home Journal team,'' said Christopher M. Little, President of the Meredith Publishing Group. ``Because its circulation and advertising sales continue to grow strongly, the magazine has now reached the point where it requires larger, fully dedicated editorial and sales staffs. More will also be demanding more of Myrna's time.''

Publishing Group Senior Vice President Myrna Blyth will continue as Editor-in-Chief and Publishing Director of More. Advertising Director Julie Pinkwater has been promoted to Publisher. Susan Crandell will be the Editor of More; Anna Demchick will be its Creative Director and Lois Joy Johnson will be the Beauty and Fashion Director of More and of the ThirdAge.com Beauty & Style Channel, Meredith's recent alliance to have More magazine provide content on style and beauty for ThirdAge.com.

All three have worked at Ladies' Home Journal -- Crandell as Executive Editor, Demchick as Art Director and Johnson as Beauty & Fashion Director -- and served as part of the More launch team. Blyth will continue as Editor-in-Chief of Ladies' Home Journal.

Launched in September 1998, More magazine is a lifestyle publication targeted to women over 40. Each issue covers beauty and fashion, health, relationships, travel and money. More has a circulation of 525,000 and a readership of more than two million.
