Michael Lovett Named President and CEO of Ingram Book Group

Michael F. Lovett, a veteran executive of Ingram Book Company, was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Ingram Book Group. Mr. Lovett succeeds Lee Synnott, who will become Vice Chairman of Ingram Book Group, according to John R. Ingram, Chairman of the Board. Mr. Synnott also will continue as a member of the Board of Directors of Ingram Industries Inc.

Mr. Lovett praised the associates of Ingram Book Group for building the business into a market leader. He noted that his primary goal is to build on the Ingram tradition of outstanding customer service which has been the hallmark of Ingram's success over several decades.

"It's all about service to our customers -- meeting their needs -- and I couldn't be happier than being on the team of Ingram associates who know how to provide the best customer service in the book industry," Mr. Lovett added. "This is a very exciting time in the book distribution business. There are many opportunities and challenges before us as our dynamic industry continues to evolve, and we have an outstanding team of associates to move ahead."

Ingram Book Group is the largest wholesaler of trade books, spoken audio, textbooks, and specialty magazines in the U.S. Its operating units include Ingram Book Company, Retailer Services Inc., Ingram Periodicals Inc., Spring Arbor Distributors Inc., Publisher Resources Inc., Ingram International Inc., Tennessee Book Company, and Ingram Library Services Inc.
