Microsoft Announces New MSDN Magazine

Posted on February 4, 2000

MSDN, the Microsoft Developer Network, and CMP Media Inc. have announced a new print publication, MSDN Magazine, which is the next evolution of the 14-year old Microsoft Systems Journal and Microsoft Internet Developer magazine (1996). The two magazines have been incorporated into MSDN Magazine to offer Microsoft development solutions and technologies in one publication.

Said Editor-in-Chief Michael Longacre, ``The time is right to combine the two magazines because the technologies each covered are converging. MSDN Magazine will continue the strategic editorial focus of both publications while moving forward as new technologies and solutions emerge.''

MSDN Magazine will include regularly appearing columns such as C++ Q&A, Basic Instincts, Security Briefs, House of COM, Serving the Web, Web Q&A and The XML Files. MSDN Magazine feature articles will include advanced coverage of the Windows 2000 platform, programming with the Visual Studio development system, Microsoft Internet technologies such as XML, ASP and scripting, COM, DCOM, Windows CE-based application development, Windows Media technologies and Windows DNA.

MSDN Magazine will also offer full content online at http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag. MSDN Magazine will be co-published by CMP Media Inc. and Microsoft. MSDN Magazine is scheduled to be on newsstands in mid-February.
