MTV Launches a Tumblr

MTV recently launched an official Tumblr. You can find it at: mtv.tumblr.com. MTV is using the Tumblr to post lots of animated GIFs, which are frequently seen on Tumblr blogs. The animated GIFs, such as this one of Emma Watson doing a clap dance, should connect with MTVs younger demographic.

The Tumblr is certainly more visually interesting than MTV's Facebook page, which is liked by a staggering 24 million+ people. It is not clear how many social sites brands are going to need to have. At some point it will become too many but what exactly that number will be is not yet set in stone.
