Posted on February 6, 1998

The Spanish edition of eMotion! magazine will have the largest Hispanic readership of any magazine in North America, according to Publisher Myron Stokes. The magazine will reach more than a million Hispanic households as a newspaper supplement in major markets throughout North America, Stokes said. Due out in early March, the first issue also will have an English-language circulation of 2 million households.

eMOTION!'s inaugural issue will feature stories on Malaysia and the troubled Asia-Pacific auto market, the Audi Avus Quattro, Delphi Automotive's J.T. Battenberg, and Formula 1 racing.

Stokes said the magazine's first four editions will be distributed in Spanish and English as a supplement in major U.S. newspapers such as the Chicago Tribune and La Prensa. Other Hispanic newspapers that initially will carry the magazine include Exito (Chicago), Mundo L.A. (Los Angeles), El Diario (New York), El Mexico (Houston) and El Hispano News (Dallas). Newspaper selection and insertion is being handled by Michigan-based Valassis Communications, Inc..

Stokes is an award-winning journalist with more than 25 years of experience covering the auto industry. Other key editorial contacts at the magazine include Managing Editor Martha Hindes, a well-known Detroit auto writer, and Motorsports Editor John Chuhran.
