New Magazine From Jo-Ann Stores

Posted on October 4, 1999

A new quarterly magazine offering advice and helpful hints on decorating, crafting, sewing, fashion and other creative pursuits makes its debut today. Jo-Ann etc..., short for "experience the creativity," is a joint publication of Jo-Ann Stores, Inc. and Butterick Co., Inc.

"Jo-Ann etc... is an exciting new source of information and innovation for people who enjoy any aspect of sewing, crafting or home decorating," said Barbara Semen, publisher of Jo-Ann etc... and vice president of marketing for Jo-Ann Stores. "Whether they're creating for themselves or making gifts to share with others, readers will find a lot of great ideas in every issue."

Special sections are devoted exclusively to projects for children, seasonal decorating, and reviews of books on sewing, crafting, and decorating. Fabrics and other materials from projects featured in the magazine are available at Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts and Jo-Ann etc stores. Jo-Ann etc... is available in Jo-Ann Stores' 1,051 nationwide outlets as well as in Kroger's, Walgreens and selected other retail locations. The price is $3.95 per issue or $11.85 for a one-year subscription.

"The idea is to help people make the best use of our stores and to spur their imaginations at the same time," said Semen. "In our fast-paced, technologically driven world, many people seek to relax and express themselves through creative, do-it-yourself activities. And we think we're in a perfect position to serve those people."
