Nina B. Link Named President and CEO of Magazine Publishers of America

The Search Committee of the MPA Board of Directors, has announced that Nina B. Link, group president of publishing and interactive software for the Children's Television Workshop (CTW), has been named president and CEO of the Magazine Publishers of America, effective November 1, 1999. Link succeeds Donald D. Kummerfeld, who previously announced in May that he planned to retire at year's end.

For the past five years, Link has been a member of the Executive Committee of the MPA Board. During the past year, she has served as chair of the MPA's Government Affairs Committee. She has also served as a director of the Audit Bureau of Circulations (A.B.C.) since 1996. Most recently at CTW she has been in charge of the strategic direction of the $60 million publishing and interactive group overseeing the publication of five magazines, a database business, book and CD-ROM licensing partnerships, and the launch of CTW's family Internet service.

The Magazine Publishers of America is the industry association for the consumer magazine business. Established in 1919, MPA represents more than 200 domestic publishing companies with approximately 1,200 titles, more than 75 international companies and more than 90 associate service providers. Staffed by magazine industry specialists, MPA is headquartered in New York City, with an office of government affairs based in Washington, D.C.
