Paramount and Steven Bochco Announce Joint Venture

Paramount Network Television and Steven Bochco have entered into a joint venture to develop television series, it was announced by Garry Hart, president of the Network Television Division of the Paramount Television Group. Under the five year joint venture, which begins in January 2000, Bochco will create and produce series with Paramount Network Television.

In making the announcement Hart commented, "As we enter into the new millennium, we are excited to be collaborating with Steven. Clearly, he is one of the great storytellers of our time and this long-term partnership holds great significance for the Division. Audiences have been entertained by Steven's prolific work in television and I am thrilled he has chosen Paramount as his creative partner on future projects."

Bochco, who has created over 20 drama series and produced more than 700 hours of programming, currently serves as the co-creator and executive producer of the Emmy Award-winning NYPD Blue for ABC and City of Angels, which will debut this fall on CBS. His series have garnered enormous critical acclaim and have received numerous accolades including multiple Emmy, Golden Globe, Peabody, Writers Guild and Director Guild Awards.
