PC Computing Names Gregory Mason Publisher

Posted on January 5, 1998

PC Computing has named a new publisher. Gregory Mason, a veteran IDG executive, assumes leadership of the PC Computing business management team, effective January 5, 1998.

Mason will lead a senior sales and marketing management team that is twice as big as it was a year ago. He replaces Chris Dobbrow, who was recently promoted and named executive vice president, with management responsibility for PC Computing, ComputerLife, Family PC and Equip. Mason will report to Dobbrow.

As publisher, Mason will have overall responsibility for the business side of the PC Computing organization, including its advertising sales and marketing teams. He will also oversee the business side of the publication's franchise, including PC Computing brand extensions.

Ziff-Davis Publishing president Claude Sheer notes that Mason's appointment means the final piece of the PC Computing senior management team is now in place. "Greg Mason bolsters an already-strong business management team at PC Computing," Sheer says. "PC Computing is a publication that's well-positioned in the marketplace, with business-focused, solution-oriented editorial content that obviously resonates with readers -- and advertisers, given the record year just posted. We welcome Greg Mason and look forward to PC Computing's continued growth and success under his stewardship."
