Peter Hubbard Named Editor of Sports Truck Accessory Digest

Posted on September 10, 1999

Cygnus Publishing has announced that Peter Hubbard has been named the editor of Sports Truck Accessory Digest (STAD). He will assist in the relaunch of the four-year-old trade publication, which will feature a complete graphic redesign and an all-new editorial package. He will be based out of the company's Fort Atkinson, Wis., offices.

"We are very fortunate to have someone of Peter's experience joining our staff," says Kip Czoch, publisher of the magazine. "His background in the automotive industry will truly prove invaluable as we move forward with our redesign."

Hubbard began his career as an automotive editor and writer 15 years ago when he was named the transportation editor for the now-defunct Houston Post. For the past five years, Hubbard has operated his own company, Automotive Ink, a contract editing, custom publishing and public relations consulting firm. Automotive Ink successfully produced a bimonthly car care newspaper, Car Care News, for former Houston-based Hi-LO Auto Supply, as well as The Chief Motorist, a car care feature magazine for Dallas-based Chief Auto Parts.

"Sports Truck Accessory Digest serves a truly dynamic market within the automotive industry," says Hubbard. "We will be covering the tremendous growth within this area and provide editorial features and columns that will help our subscribers stay informed, become better educated and more profitable, in a business segment which promises to become highly competitive in the next few years."

Sports Truck Accessory Digest was purchased by Cygnus Publishing in 1998 from Continental Communications, headquartered in Elkhart, Ind., which also produces RV Trade Digest. STAD is a BPA-audited publication and reaches more than 14,000 dealers, distributors and suppliers in the light-truck accessory market.
