Pocket Books to Publish Instant New York Yankee Book

Pocket Books will publish This Champion Season, a mass market paperback that will detail and commemorate the current record-breaking 1998 Yankee season. It was announced by Gina Centrello, president and publisher of Pocket Books. The book is written by Howard Blatt, a contributing writer to Baseball Weekly, and contains highlights from the Yankees' 1998 season, including details of the World Series with 16 pages of black and white photos.
According to acquiring editor Jane Cavolina, "The 1998 Yankees are one of the greatest teams in baseball history. Through this book we hope to immortalize the team and this spectacular season." Books are scheduled to go on sale the first week of November.
Howard Blatt is a sportswriter who has covered baseball for the New York Daily News for over ten years, and is currently a contributor to Baseball Weekly. Pocket Books is a division of Simon & Schuster, the publishing operation of Viacom Inc.
