Prevention magazine has announced that it will begin publishing a Spanish language edition in the United States titled Prevention en espanol. The magazine also announced plans to distribute Prevention en espanol to 20 Latin American countries. The announcement was made by Barb Newton, vice president and director of publishing at Rodale, the parent company of Prevention magazine.

Prevention magazine is teaming with the Ideas Publishing Group of Miami, FL, in an agreement to publish and distribute Prevention en espanol. The inaugural edition will hit the newsstands in November 1999, with 12 monthly issues scheduled yearly. Dalia Sanchez has been named publisher and Lincoln Brito will be editor.

"At Prevention magazine, our mission is to help people enjoy healthier lives. We are excited to be partnering with Ideas Group to spread that message to Latin America and the Hispanic community in the United States. This is another important step in our plan to promote the Prevention brand worldwide," said Newton.
