Posted on November 25, 2005

Aauthor and tv personality Rachael Ray has inked a deal with King World Productions, Harpo Productions and Scripps Networks to host a daily, one-hour, talk show available to stations for Fall 2006. Rachael Ray is represented by the William Morris Agency.

"People know me for my love of food, but I have so much more I want to share," said Rachael Ray. "Our show's going to be all about taking a bigger bite out of life. I want people to see themselves in this show, because life is full of messes and successes, and getting there is half the fun."

Rachael Ray is familiar to TV viewers as host of the Food Network's series, 30-Minute Meals, $40 a Day, Inside Dish and Tasty Travels. She's also the bestselling author of ten cookbooks, with another due out in November, and her new, monthly magazine, Every Day with Rachael Ray.

"Rachael Ray is a terrific talent, whose positive energy, infectious smile and dynamic personality jump right off the television screen," remarked King World Productions CEO Roger King. "She's already made a mark for herself with a legion of fans, and her star is going to keep rising for many years to come. And, what a thrill it is to partner with Oprah on producing daytime's next big hit. I can't wait to start selling this exciting, new, quality show."

The new series, to be based in New York City, will be produced by King World Productions in association with Harpo Productions and Scripps Networks, Inc. and distributed by King World. Ray will continue to appear on the Food Network.

Rachael Ray got her start in television doing a weekly segment, 30-Minute Meals, for the evening news on WRGB-TV in Albany, NY. Her TV work grew to include a series of lifestyle and travel segments following the theme of, "You do not have to be wealthy to lead a rich life." The Food Network picked up 30-Minute Meals in November 2001, after seeing Rachael on The Today Show.
